Well class went okay. As I knew I needed to work on shading. Bleh. Perhaps cartography really isn't for me. Well at least shading topographical maps. Heh. Finally finished up the map of the island we visited. It was dupped Twin Peaks, some of the guys wanted to call it double breasted by they were shot down. Boys.

This time the assignment was drawing contour lines. We were allowed to compare notes as well as split up into teams. It was pretty neat. We even took some readings off coast as well. It's very basic, only 10 feet between each elevation, but that's okay. I think it turned out okay. Bliss had a grand time, as did many of the other's firelizards.

We spent a couple of days there, but we had to come back. No shelter from Thread. Not really any caves in the area. Sad, it would have been nice to spend more time. Thread can really put a cramp in ones style.
 Mikey really made some headway on getting some of the frame built and I've got some sailcloth as well. Soon I'll be able to try it out. Hopefully.

Mother's being an absolute alarmist, she's worried about the Thread and is absolutely convinced that it's going to come in and eat her. I'm just glad Marcus is young enough to not really understand her. Still, it worries me how he might gorw up. Dad wouldn't have wanted a chicken for a son. Dad, why did you have to go away. I know it's not your fault, but I could really use you now. Mom's lost it.

I've done some more studing on the hang glider plans. If I can just secure all the materials, I'll be good to go. I think the sailcloth will be the easiest to get. It's the frame I'm still working on. Though I've a few guys in metalworking who said they'd help. One guy only wants to try it out. Least that's different then the others who just want in my pants. Boys. Such a funny lot.

Mother is convinced I'm going to fall to my death and be broken into a million bits upon landing. She's such a pessimist. I've been talking with some of the older pilots, ones who've flown simple crafts and such. One guy has even actually done some hang gliding, so I've got myself a teacher. So it won't be as if I'm just jumping off a cliff blind.

Dunno what happend and why it stopped showing, but I changed hosting services and it's not back up again. *kicks atgig* Silly site. Gotta go back and re read over their stuff. Maybe they've disallowed hot-linking. Hmmph.

Well, completed my map and turned it in. Don't know what I'll get on it. The outline is good, but I think the coloring sucks, but it should still pass. I really need to work on my shading. I know that much, but at least the jist of it is there.

Going to be visiting mother this evening and then watching Marcus while she gets a chance to go out. One of her friends is draging her out. I think she's trying to hook mother up. Oh well, best of luck to her I guess, I don't think mothers ready yet.

Course I'm not sure if I really like the idea of mother being with someone else, but I suppose she doesn't have a choice. Live long and prosper. Somerone mentioned those lines, pulled from some archaic flick or something.I don't know. Baby producers. Honestly, there's more to life than that isn't there?
